THEATRE DONIZETTI WAS ERECTED AT THE END OF 700 AND CALLED AFTER GAETANO DONIZETTI IN 1897.
Near by the monument to Donizetti erected in the same year by Francesco Jerace. In this theatre you’ll find programmes for Stagione Lirica, Prosa , Festival Pianistico, Bergamo Jazz (march)
SAN BARTOLOMEO CHURCH (1600) - In which you’ll find a big altar piece”Madonna con bambino e Santi” by Lorenzo Lotto (1516), the wooden Chorus , with marquetries by Damiano Zambelli (XVI century)
S.BARTOLOMEO CULTURAL CENTER IS annexted to the Church and is at the end of SENTIERONE which is the pedestrian way opened in 1762. Continuing along Sentierone you’ll arrive in via T.Tasso and to S.Spirito church (rebuilt in the first half of 500 .) where you’ll see the polyptych by Bergognone (1508) and a oil on canvas by Lorenzo Lotto.
An other church near by is S.BERNARDINO CHURCH (1500) in via Pignolo. with another Lorenzo Lotto altar piece.(1521). Just in front there is MUSEO BERNAREGGI
